Seaside founders have experienced first-hand the tolls that autism and mental retardation take on families, and share the sense of frustration that effective therapeutics are still not available despite recent scientific advances.

Our mission is to develop new treatments to improve the quality of life for both individuals with disorders of brain development and for their families. We will accomplish our goal by leveraging our internal knowledge, capabilities, and intellectual property regarding disorders of brain development to advance compounds with strong biological rationale rapidly into human trials necessary for FDA approval. The company plans to reduce the high risk for early exploratory research by focusing on specific biological targets that have been preclinically validated by our founders and scientific advisors and for which there exist relevant pharmacological classes of preclinical candidates. We intend to leverage collaborations with foundations, government agencies, academic scientists and pharmaceutical companies to bridge the gap between scientific discoveries and development of new treatments for individuals with disorders of brain development.
